Weekend Update!

It's game day today! Yipee. As I am sure most of you are aware we (Sky Blue FC) take on Philadelphia Independence tonight at West Chester University at 6pm. For all of you New Jersey-ans? New Jersey-ites?...it's only a hop, skip and jump away so I hope to see you there!

Apologies for my plug up there but the folding of St. Louis Athletica has made me realize just how fortunate I am to be in New Jersey and playing professional soccer for a living. So a big THANK YOU to everyone who supports Sky Blue FC and the WPS!

Here are a few things that have happened since my previous post:
1. Sadly, St. Louis Athletica has folded. Many players have found new teams but Atlanta Beat has taken on a majority and added Eniola Aluko, Tina Ellertson, and Hope Solo from St. Louis to the roster. The "new look" Atlanta Beat have been dubbed "Atlantica."

2. Our head coach Pauliina assigned a "motivational music video" project. We were broken into groups and had two weeks to complete the video. Friday we had a viewing party but still have not made any decisions about a winner. Here's a little taste of my group's video.

3. I have finally signed up for my first guitar lesson! I'm tired of teaching myself and relying on you tube tutorials. (Not that they're not helpful, because they are!) I am so excited! Hopefully HAO will join me and we can get "The Total Packages" together.

4. Also, a shout out for Robbie Williams' "Soccer Aid" in partnership with UNICEF. Williams put together a great combination of celebrities and soccer stars to make up two teams; England and the Rest of the World. The event kicks off today at Old Trafford and the money raised will be donated to Children's Organizations around the world. It's a great event, check it out here: http://www.unicef.org.uk/socceraid2010/

Anyway, it's time to get going to Philly. Have a great weekend!
